Same-Sex Marriage
One day you will be in love. When that day comes, you’ll want to spend the rest of your life with them, but what if that wasn’t possible. Same-sex marriage couples don’t get to spend the rest of their life with the person they love. Same-sex marriage in my eye should be legalized, not just in the United States, but the whole world. There is nothing wrong with a perfect marriage.
Even though the government won’t allow it, the president has a different opinion. “I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.” Said Obama. (NewYorkTimes) Day by day more same-sex couples want to get married. The world has 16 countries have legalized the marriage. (LGBTQNATION) Not just that, 75% of the U.S has banned the marriage and 25% has legalized the marriage. (NCSL) I personally think in the next few years that percent is going to change by a lot.
Even though there are people who disagree with same-sex marriage there’s proof of why they work out so well. “Research finds that same-sex unions are happier than heterosexual marriages.” (ATLANTIC) Same-sex marriages should not have to get married because one of the spouses is dying. They should get married because they want to not because they have to. You should enjoy each day with no restrictions.
There are some people who think different than I do. These people think same-sex marriage should be banned. They say a man and a woman have a role and that each child needs a mother and a father. (ATLANTIC) The government thinks if you get married and it is to the same-sex that it is against the union and it’s not a real marriage. (NCSL) The people also think that a parent is a role model, and they are role modeling that same-sex marriage is okay. (ATLANTIC) Marriage shouldn’t be a right, it should be an opportunity.

I haven’t found love yet but when I do, I’ll love them till the day I die. I want to die the day before he does because I don’t want to live a day without him. My parents don’t like same-sex marriages, but I don’t care. I think if you are in love and you want to spend the rest of your life with them, then I think you should get married. “In the long run same-sex marriages tend to be happier than heterosexual couples.” (NCSL) Heterosexual couples are between a man and women. The government gets upset about all this protesting, but if they would answer all there questions and let them live there life and be free. Then there will be no more fighting. In the end everybody should be able to marry the person they love because they want to spend the rest of their life together.
