Matters of the Heart
Spinning in and out of reality as the pain long endured comes to a halt all at the sound of a voice. Putting this much need on a person is unwise and not healthy. If they fail, then everything you have put into them fails; everything you let ride on them becomes a huge waste. Whether that be time, money, or feelings, they took it all with them. When my heart breaks enough it will eventually die. When that happens I won’t actually die. My heart will still Beat... Beat... Beat... But there is nothing behind that Beat. That's when the heart dies on a level deeper than biology. This death is of innocence and optimism. It’s when your heart hardens. When enough people mistreat your heart, it will start to reject all new people, as they represent new vulnerabilities for sadness and heartbreak to intrude into your chest. To them it's all fine and dandy until your heart stops to Beat... Beat... Beat...
