Have you ever pondered the thought of why our society is cursing so much? Did you predict what the source of this problem is? There is a great chance that the origin of our society cursing is uncensored music .Music should be censored because the profanity in it models children to use fowl language and goes against people’s moral values and religion.

Initially uncensored music that many listen to is getting to the younger generation .We all know that children are our future .What happens a majority of the time when a juvenile hears a new word ,they use the new word right? Eventually most children will be using profanity .The real question is, how will our society be in ten years from now.
Additionally music should be censored because hearing cursing in the public is disturbing .To my understanding music helps calm the nerves .When you are relaxing do you really want to hear explicit language. The outcome will be public life being less pleasant .Some people enjoy censored music just because it makes their everyday life a little more placid.
Ultimately, the largest con of having uncensored music is that it goes against beliefs .Music that is not censored may affect the way people interpret their beliefs ,and potentially will become a bad habit throughout that religion. Some people probably enjoy songs that swear, but maybe it's because they don't know realize how immoral using fowl language is. Imprecate music changes the way these people live life.

If someone were to ask me my opinion whether music should be censored or not ,I will respond by saying music that is not filtered is rapidly changing beliefs ,corrupting children ,and disturbing the peace .I don't see the purpose of having profanity in music anyway.

@4801478736 1) Are you a bot? 2) While some uncensored music can be distasteful because of the graphic subjects, there are many songs with profanity that highlight some issues that wouldn't be able to be created without profanity, such as "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine. This song sheds light on the leftist issue of police brutality. 3) Not all music is for relaxation. There are many types of music that can be used for other reasons than relaxation. Popular EDM(Electronic Dance Music) can be used to create a beat for dancing for a large group of people. Metal music can be used to relieve stress through "moshing" or headbanging. 4) Profanity can provide tasteful art that can be the best in the business. The Greeks created many sculptures of naked women and men, yet it is still revered to be some of the greatest pieces of art today. Movies such as Bladerunner show nudity, as well, but they are still great movies. Music is an artform as well, so why should it be any different than sculptures, painting and movies?

If you don't like music with swearing, don't listen to it.

Children are not using profanity because of uncensored music they get it from their own parents, first of all. Second, the parents are the ones who need to monitor what they listen too, it's their job. Also uncensored music conveys messages of the truth about life, which children will find out anyway. I agree that profanity is too much for music but, that's how certain people get their creative points across.

1. Many punctuation mistakes. 2. Yes, many songs today use explicit language all the time for no reason. But it's not the profanity that's the problem. It's the message that is passed through the song. Even if there was no profanity in the songs nowadays, since most of those songs have no good, important or relevant message to give us, today's youth would still be stupid, rude, etc. It's just that they wouldn't use profanity. And then there are the songs that have a good message to give us, but use profanity. I listen to that kind of rap all the time. But I don't use profanity for no reason. I'm polite to anyone that I respect. And I respect many people. 3. Censoring ruins any song. It even ruins the meaning of some songs. That's why I never go listen to any song with Vevo.

It's disturbing when a 13-yo girl sings ....and he F***s me so good and I can't get enough.....even if the f word is muted - I think this society has run out of things to sing about and maybe for some it's not big deal but I'm very disturbed by how much profanity I hear nowadays from young people, and why wouldn't they when it's all over the radio....

If you think cencorship is a good thing you are an idiot. How the hell can you say that swearing in music is a bad thing. What is your say keeping people and children from what the real world is? They'll find out sooner or later. Cencorship violates the first amendment!

No, God will punish them for their sins. Read Revelation for more info... Judgement seat of Christ and the book of life. Just because He loves them doesn't mean he won't punish them.

I acknowledge this writing and their concern in this topic. But, where is your facts? This is all based on personal opinion not facts. I do not see a single quotation or any provided information. some people don't mind explicit language, so why should all music be censored just because you do not like explicit content. also, Music is not the only thing influencing this nation and its future generations. There are multiple sources such as Movies/Television, areas that the child is being raised, magazines, news articles, YouTube videos. Directing every issue with this nation should not be thrown on music. If you don't like cursing don't buy a song with cursing or explicit content. simple as that. Music is not only used for calming down. There are many different emotions Music can tend to. It can tend to anger or can tend to excitement or sadness. It is up to the writer of the song. When MOST writers write songs, they pour their feeling and thoughts into that song and limiting that writers voice only because the song is not to your liking is the real immoral thing going on.

Or... maybe they are using those words because they use profanity so often in normal conversation that there is no meaning behind the words. I believe that is what society is coming to... that no one even blinks an eye when there is obscene language in music.

@moDurban If you don't like it don't listen to it. Music censorship has nothing to with child abuse, if a child is misbehaving it is not necessarily because of music. What they see around them influences them more than anything. No, God will not punish them God loves all no matter how bad they are. He may not like their actions but he loves them, you would know this if you actually read the Bible. Most of the artists known for profanity in music have been through so much that profanity is the way they can convey those feelings to their audience. Think about it what conveys more emotion, F**k this hurts so bad or Darn this hurts.

I believe that a government cannot restrict the way people express themselves through music or any other art form without good cause. Any such legislation would be undemocratic and paternalistic. I do not believe that an increase in the use of profanity justifies any form of censorship. Whether a person chooses to listen to music which contains profanity and/or adopts such language is entirely up to them. Furthermore, I do not believe that uncensored music is the main reason for growing acceptance of traditionally unacceptable language and the article provides very little evidence for this being the case. There are other social factors which are far more important than music.

It is a person's choice whether they want to expose themselves to this type of music or not. Censoring art is not okay, as it violates our right to the freedom of speech, and limits creativity. If you don't want to listen to this kind of stuff, that's your choice, but don't try to make my choice for me. They're just words

Yes, people should have the decency to censor what is heard by children, however, it should never be forced to. The parents should perhaps take a role and insure that their children are protected.

I believe there is not much we can do at this point except create a fundation of values in our children to separate good and bad. I do believe that there needs to bee a reexamination of moral values in lyrics, but not censorship. Children are also vunerable to psycological programing in nature. They absorb everything they hear and see. They need to pe limited to what they hear. Adults are the ones who should be aware of these dangers and limit their children. Music artist should also be aware of their posibble impact with their lyrics. Words are power.

I think that music without censorship can change views... but by no means do I think thats bad. It does not force change upon ones views, but it just exposes people to different viewpoints. Its good to have a free, open mind, and censorship can limit someone from developing their own thoughts and opinions based on what they want to believe.
