Stray's Prayer

Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care!

I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.

My body is aching, it's so racked with pain,

and dear God I pray, as I run in the rain.

That someone will love me and give me a home,

a warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.

My last owner tied me all day in the yard

Sometimes with no water, and god that was hard.

So I chewed my leash, and God I ran away.

To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.

But now God, I'm tired and hungry and cold,

and I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.

They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones,

while I run the streets just looking for bones!

I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can,

or I have become just a "Victim of Man!"

I'm wormy dear God and I'm ridden with fleas,

and all that I want is an Owner to please!

If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good,

and I won't chew their shoes, and I'll do as I should.

I'll love them, protect them and try to obey....

when they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!

I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,

cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.

Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,

cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die.

And I've got so much love and devotion to give,

that I should be given a new chance to Live!

So dear God, please answer my prayer,

and send me someone who will REALLY care..

That is, Dear God, if YOU'RE REALLY there!

When you bring a dog to a municipal animal shelter do you ever wonder how much money is being used for the needs of the dog? Dogs don't want money they want love and care for a better life. “so dear god, please answer my prayer, and send me someone who will REALLY care.. That is, dear god if YOU’RE REALLY there!” The animal control shelters help the pet owners by trying to teach them to be responsible pet owners so the animals get more love, attention, and better health care. so basically the money they put towards animals is not exactly money its time spent teaching pet owners to be more responsible so the dogs can live a life in comfort and joy. dogs are dependant on us so the animal control is trying to teach us how to take care of them responsibly. For example, the Poop Fairy Campaign is a great resource to teach pet owners to pick up after their dog. (The Poop Fairy Campaign, July 9 - 17 From July 9 - 17, 2011, we were looking for volunteers and new signs in Jeffco area parks and neighborhoods. The volunteers handed out poop bags and flyers and talked with residents about the importance of keeping our parks and trails poop-free.) A recent investigation found:

-- The cost of running an animal shelter has increased considerably since 1996. Estimated total expenses for all animal care and control agencies in Ohio during 2004 were $57.7 million, up from an estimated $34.2 million in 1996. (ohio state university,2006)

Municipal animal shelters are expected to keep strays and dangerous animal of the streets to help protect the public and their health. They also help the animals as well in a dual function. Municipal animal shelters are funded by the government; but those who do the jobs they are asked to do are underfunded, and often have non-profit arms to help close the gap between costs and funding (Ramos,2012). Shelters, both municipal and private, may provide other services for the public but only if they have sufficient and enough resources to do so. These services may include animal health services such as exams and spay and neuter surgeries, behavioral evaluations, training and humane education.but not all municipal things work alone. Most of the time non-profit agencies will work together with a municipal agency to help take care and see the needs of each animal whether it's more care and attention or to getting them what they need to get ready for adoptions.

While the animal control officers get the the bad nickname of "dog catcher" these are often very compassionate and highly dedicated professionals who do a terrific job of rescuing animals in the field and prosecuting cruelty cases. Municipal shelters are not just there to take your dog and put them away they are there... they are there to help them buy helping you they love animals as much as they care for people. all animals are as equal as any human being, but some may be more equal than some humans.
