Growing Up
I can honetly say that as a 17 year old white male, growing up is the scariest thing I have experienced. Through my life in a not-so-good area in a not-so-good town I have never been scared of things like mortality or incarceration. Aging is the only thing that has truly kept me up at night. Even staring into the barrel of an automatic weapon is child's play compared to this. Not because of death that comes with old age, just the fact that I am expected to survive on my own in this society. Especially now where walking to the corner store can get you killed, or me supporting a certain political leader can have me attacked verabally and physically. Taxes, family expectations, natural disasters, economic dips, and so much more only makes my fear worse.
