Left Behind
Think it’s strange
 Think it’s unfair
 How everyone is moving on
 Without me
 Who they are
 What their doing
 Where their going

 And leaving me behind…

 Untied knots by tying more
What used to be so easy is now so hard
 Stuck in place
 Standing still
 Trying to figure myself out
 While others fly bye

 Like standing on yellow lines
 Cars race past
 In a flash
 Then vanish
Can’t catch up on these wobbly feet
 Where has my balance gone?

Who I thought would always be there
 Fading, fading to gray
 Fading, fading away

 Cant move forward
Until I know what will get me there
 Fear of anyone seeing inside
But so desperate to break through
 Why is everyone in motion?
 When I am frozen?
 They won’t wait
Or look back for even a second

 The world is
 Shifting, shifting away
And I am shifting, shifting into stay

 Hitch hike
 Thumb out
 No one stops
 No one looks my way
Leafs float down at my feet
 Where to go?
 Who to turn to?

 Jump into the headlights…

 I want to freeze time
 Want it all to stop
 Hold my pause
 And change everyone’s direction

But no one is coming back for me
Left to find my own way
Not even my surest stat to guide me

 Alone, alone
How long with the night last?
 Who will I be?
And where will I have gone?
 When the night is over

So I’ll walk these yellow lines
 Alone so cold
 Till morning finds
 Me left behind…
