Above the Weather
Standing alone in the rain, but not getting wet.
Feet planted,
Mind focused,
Heart thinking.
Body saturated with thoughts.
Furious, determined winds blow around,
Altering positions of everything,
Knocking over garbage,
Picking up stronger objects.
Conflicts and crashes,
I feel none of it.
Lightening cracking, fog settling over my path,
Ice forming over the hard concrete I’ve been chasing,
But none of it stops my bare, open feet.
All I feel, all I see is sun breaking the clouds,
Pieces of them shattering, pelting to the ground.
I warned them not to go barefoot.
