ketchup and ranch smothered on her plate.
black t-shirts fill her closet
with hints of color here and there.
nothing else but jeans and cute underwear.
3 pairs of shoes are good for her.
a messy room is an organized mind.
books sprawled all over the room.
markers and paint take over the place.
drool stains on her bed, covered in pandas and mess.
pictures on the wall let her re-live her past.
of good times with friends...if only they would last.
side bangs, and red curly hair defines who she is.
freckles and paleness covers her skin.
glasses help her see but hide her hazel eyes.
her friends are a text away, the good ones that she'll never forget
the others stored in the back of her mind for later.
C's and B's written at the top of her papers, she will never recieve higher.
and average girl in this average world.
trying to make a name for herself, to change the world.
with her writings or her teachings...whichever comes first.
her laughter creates smiles on others faces
and her kindness makes the kids run her way.
her anger makes the important people stay away.
but her hugs and kisses brings them back into play.
her mind plays jokes and cause her to make mistakes
but she smiles and says "tomorrows another day"
notes and random things pile into her drawers
things that remind her of times that she never wants to forget.
the scars on her skin make her remember
the bad times on little tree lane
and the good times on cedar terrace and parma view drive.
the pages of words scribbled into lines of poetic beauty
makes her see that maybe she could have something.
the polly pockets in her closet make her feel young again
pulling them out every so often-wanting to be a kid again.
she is growing up too fast, but she had to.
a past with so much unknowns made her grow up
before it was time to stop being a kid.
the skills she was given to read peoples faces
gives her and advantage in the world
but causes emotions to bubble over.
the tears she cries everynight
aren't for her but for the problems of others
that fill her ears everyday.
listening is her greatest talent
and not speaking is her biggest flaw.
high school was easy, college is too hard.
not wanting to stay but having to.
so she can prove that she isn't what her father thinks.
skipping classes to write her life stories.
not caring about her fate.
she lives day by day
she is a girl fighting for her place.
just a mesh of words written down on paper
a rambled mess that makes no sence
and though she is nothing like she thought she'd be
she is someone she is proud of
in this world full of lies and mistakes
and she is just letting the pages turn
and her actions write the next page.
