Mother Earth and Fire
It roared in anger, its temper flaring
Blazing like a raging monster
Mother Earth fought back with all her being
But it just burned on even hotter
Then as it lie there smoldering
It just went out with a gentle sputter
And so the clouds all weep in sorrow
The ground burned black, a giant lesion
Poor mother earth, a wounded soldier
Had tried her best to beat this demon
But she could not stop it and to her horror
It was her children’s own creation
