The Lie
I wrote 'I love you' in a letter,
And sealed it in an envelope.
I put it in the mailbox,
And sent away all hope.
I took a picture of us,
And put it in the fire.
I watched it burn to ashes,
And watched the flames grow higher.
I told you that I loved you,
And you said the same.
I tell you now that we are through,
'Cause I don't play this game.
