Dreams
Dreams come at me like I’m awake,
They haunt me by no mistake.
I want them to go away,
But I know they are here to stay.
I fear them because I don’t want them to leave,
For me, it’s like an addictive pet peeve.
My dreams are addicting,
And so, I want them to be predicting,
But is this what I really want?
Or do my dreams seem to taunt?
What my mind is seeing?
And my heart is believing?
Do I want them to stay?
Or it is that I really want them to go way?
Are my dreams happy?
Or are they terrifying or sappy?
Do I know what I need?
Or do I know what I greed?
Why does this happen to me?
So hard so that I can’t see,
My dreams are haunting me,
But I know I don’t want them to leave.
