Midnight Moon
The sun
Falls
His eyes
Open;
The eyes of an
Owl
He looks
Around at the
Woods
Animals come
Out
Of their hiding spots
Ready to fetch
Their evening
Meal
The others
Rush,
Trying to win
The first
Catch of the
Night
The owl
Waits
The fox catches
His prey with
A heavy
Sigh;
Mice scurry
On the Earth’s
Floor
They eventually
Slow.
The owl swoops
Down,
Catching a mouse
In its
Beak,
Carries it back
To the
Nest.
The fox lays
Down,
Tired of
Running to catch
Its food
The owl finishes
Its meal
Is soars off into
The night,
Its wings
Glowing
In the
Midnight moon.
