Breathe
If our lives were to smile
and our charge was to
open our eyes to the world,
and feel the effluence of words
the vicissitudes of age, then
the countenance of nature
would fuel our nerves,
and our mirth would breathe the elements
in their purest form.
The cerebellum of the mind would spin,
in consciousness of our inert bodies,
the cries of the deprived
would churn our hearts in desolation.
We have ignored,
we have been the ignorant,
and to this we smile.
With eminence we remain
and to the perfection
of an unmarked providence,
we will provide.
