Fountain of Love
A fountain lives inside a lush park.
Or is it a corner of a street?
It shoots its water up and afar:
a rocket to the sun in the sea.
The driving force is a mystery divine,
only the Maker really knows how it flows.
The shower has just more inches on its mind,
sprinkling the heavenly gates as it goes.
The elated droplets dance and sing,
delighting in the heights they've just crowned,
before they come crashing-hurtling
down-onto the cold, merciless ground.
But wait! A familiar cool welcomes their dive.
A kind peaceful pool saves the poor water’s life.
