The Summer Calls
Little birds fly by the glass pane,
As pencils fall to the floor,
I see a friend and a smile I feign,
As the teacher walks through the door.
Inside we wait for that magic bell,
to set us free from these walls,
As we wait in our room, our hearts do yell,
We know that the outside calls,
And into the wild we should run,
the day is free of clouds and rain,
and the sky is full of sun.
We'll soon be relieved of the pain.
And as I look out the window pane,
A Pencil falls to the floor,
I see a friend and a smile I feign,
As the teacher walks through the door.
