Where I'm From
I’m from the acres of the cornfield and woods in my backyard
 I’m from the apple trees
I’m from the big red barn
 That stood before the tornado
From the smell of fresh lilacs

I’m from the old, creaking, white farm house
From the golden retriever, Gizmo found in a storm
I’m from the baby kittens running around
From the cat I got when I was four
From playing hide and seek in the dark

I’m from painting and playing with play-doh
From bike rides with my family
From adventuring out in the woods with my siblings
 From running through the sprinkler
From climbing trees as far up as you could reach

I am from the moments that make you smile
From learning your lesson the difficult way
I am from my family I can count on
