Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you’re really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners o the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I’ve got a few missing. It’s okay though, because I’ve got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation so when I meet some one who’s an 8-color type… I’m like “hey girl, magenta!” and she’s like “Oh you mean purple!” and she goes off on her purple thing, and I’m like, “No, I want magenta!” –John Mayer

Summer's here and i'd have to say
I could've waited for this day.
Two whole months without my friends
I can't wait untill summer ends.
Even though I'll be at the bottom of the totem pole
We all have to play that role.
I think about this past year
And all those I held dear.
All my friends that I'll miss
Untill i see them again when I feel fall"s chilly kiss.

You know most teens don't think that the year goes by as fast as it does. It's like one minute you're starting school and the next it's the day before school's out. What hurts the most is finding out that you won't see some of your friends ever again and the others you won't see for two months. And that's when the realization kicks in and you're like 'Wow I never thought how fast this year went by.' And that's when you start to cry because you know you won't get up the next day and see your friends at school. That's what this poem is all about. Realiing that yeah its summer and yeah you're going to have fun but things aren't going to be the same. Heck your friends aren't the same. And you just want things to be the same like they were before.
