Unsinkable
The passengers think she’s unsinkable.
For her to rest at the ocean bottom is unthinkable.
The unsuspecting enjoy music and dance,
While the iceberg looms in the dark, invisible at first glance.
Maybe if everyone could have been saved, things would be different,
But sadly that was not the intent.
For the ship was unsinkable so what was the need?
For the lifeboats that sat there doing no deed.
But not for long.
The confidence and comfort would soon be gone.
There is no fight with the deep blue sea.
Many survivors there would not be.
The few that are carry with them a memory.
Not a happy one but one of fear and tragedy.
