You were once an open book
“You were once an open book”
You were once an open book
Now you’re just a diary with a lock
I look deep into your eyes
And saw nothing but a girl lost in her own thoughts
Wondering what it was like
To be loved one more time
Hear someone say that they care
That you were rare
You were once an open book
Wondering how it would feel like
To go to a home full of love
Wondering
And wondering
That’s all that was going through your head
You look in the mirror
And see yourself clearer
“You ain’t nothing but a lone wolf crying for help”
I still felt myself melt
With those words that would come out of your mouth
You were once an open book
Still shaping yourself
Safe and sound
Trying to move forward
Forget about the past and focus on the future
