Hurt
At nine years old
She sat in her mother’s car,
Crying
Begging
For forgiveness.
Her mother yelling and screaming because a “lie” is what she told.
Her father is driving her to what he calls her new “home”.
Abandoned.
Scared.
Lonely.
Unwanted.
Emotions fly in a whirlwind in her head.
The cars, the trees all passing by in a blur;
She wonders how everyone can be going about normally,
When this is her last good-bye and her first hello.
The car comes to a halt,
Her mother still yells asking why she has not apologized.
You see that nine year old girl shudder with sound of her mother’s voice.
She has no life choice.
Looking out, only to find her new “home”,
She looks at the two faces in front of her, her parents, and she realizes that they do love her.
The only thing she realizes that they don’t see,
Is how much their love will kill me.
“I’m hurt by the love my parents are feeding me!”
