Suppose to
The good advice
of a mother is
suppose to be
Understanding
And teaching
Their kids
How to live life
Without fear
But mine isn’t
Like that she
Teaches me
The opposite
How to live in fear
And to please
Everyone but myself.
Hurt and hatred
It’s all I seem to feel towards
Her
These days.
She knows how abusive my
Dad
Is
And she still wants me
“To suck it up”
And “deal with it”.
She wants me
To live with him.
I resent
Both of
Them.

I wrote this poem when I was depressed and very angry with my parents. And I still am but the difference is that I try to focus more on the good than the bad.
