Your Last Moments
Lying on your death bed,
I knelt by your side and held your hand.
We both knew the time had come.
The room was silent.
All we could hear was our heartbeat.
Going through your mind were everlasting memories.
You weren't scared of leaving,
you just didn't want to leave your loved ones begind.
As the seconds passed by,
the time came closer and closer.
Then with three words,
I saw the last tear escape from your eyes,
I felt your body go limp,
and heard your heart come to a stop.
Our memories will last forever,
but we will never be able to add to them.
