We all differ...
We all differ from size to race,
from toes to face,
all over the place
without leaving a trace.
But, what we don't know is what lies underneath.
What is our true color?
What do we really want?
What are we here for?
What do we want to achieve?
What are our dreams and goals?
We fight a battle everyday.
We win some and lose others.
But, nothing stops us from going on.
We hear others call us names everyday.
The words stab deeper into our core.
They rip our hearts in half
and then run away
with an evil laugh.
We stare after them
and look on without a clue.
We don't know why were treated so different.
We don't know why our skin is this color.
Why we are male or female?
We know nothing about how the creator of us all works.
So. what are we fighting for?
Who are we battling against?
Who do we want to impress?
We all differ from size to race,
from toes to face
all over the place
without leaving a trace.
But, what we don't know is what lies underneath.
What follows us at night?
Who is watching over us?
Nothing gives us the answer
so, we must find our own true colors.
