A day at the park
The cats meow and the dogs bark,
because today, of all days, we go to the park.
He gets so happy, our dog names Slappy,
to go outside, and play on a slide.
She gets full of fury, our cat names furry,
when our dog named Slappy, gets so happy.
When we get to the park, it is almost
dark, but we stay and play, for we’ve
waited all day.
The darkness is as scary as the parkness that we feel.
But it’s as much fun as lying under the sun.
We decide to go back, for we didn’t think to pack,
enough to last us, until the next bus.
When we get home, we write a poem.
The day was a beautiful day.
