I Am From
I was just a little girl from Tennessee
Growing up and having ups and downs
Knowing I was a little growing tree
Lost, as families come and go
Forever lost, for life was slow
I moved on to something new
Now, I had a family pure and true
I, never forgot who I was
But sometimes in life I had to take a pause
Remembering memories and old times
Forgetting what led me to crimes
Always taking wrong turns
Having a life empty and burned
Just coming out of my shell
The world was different, like a ringing of a bell
Made new friends, became a better person
Was part of something new, no longer an orphan
Life is like a tree
We come and grow
Finding the better person we can be.
