I'm Not Afraid MAG
I'm not afraid to fall from the sky
 secured only by my feet.
It doesn't frighten me to endure
 fire's radiating heat.
I do not fear the grip of strangers
 or weather catastrophe.
I never cower in the dark –
 I prefer it, actually.
 Spiders: you don't scare me.
 Ghosts: I can't be spooked.
 Gory Halloween masks:
 I wouldn't have even looked.
 Anxiety doesn't plague me
 when I consider death.
I'm not alarmed of the moment
when I'll breathe my final breath.
But boys, on the other hand –
 Oh God, please NO!
 Their words are so complicated,
 their thoughts, a fatal blow.
 Butterflies dance in my stomach
when I dream about one night,
he'll look at me, grab my hand
 and squeeze it really tight!
I can't bear to finally tell him
 about how I truly feel.
I know he will reject me,
and from that, I will not heal.
 Boys are like piranhas
that eat away at your soul.
They try to shatter my heart
to keep it from being whole.
 I can handle anything.
You name it, it won't come near!
 But boys, horrible boys,
are my greatest and only fear.

that was beautiful ! it was cute , and rhythmic ; and furthermore , the rhymes weren't forced at all . they seemed to flow effortlessly . you're a wonderful writer , and although your idea for this might be simple and - as some people might wrongly suggest - childish , it is actually complex and mature . it's like a girl's favorite nursery rhyme . (: congrats on this , you did a wonderful job .
if you'd like , maybe you'd like to check out a few of my pieces . they didn't get published , like yours , but i think you might like them .
great job , again . (:
