You can’t sing a love song in English
While you would sing
Spanish love songs:
I’d drift inandout of conscience
I never told you that
your lullaby’s put me to sleep.
I was afraid that you’d
stop playing them.
People always want what
they can’t have.
I asked you if you
knew any English love songs.
You told me that anyone
can sing a love song in
English. It takes a
true lover to learn a
different language and serenade
them just before bed.
That night I drove
to the nearest bookstore
and purchased an Italian
dictionary.
