I Laugh
I Laugh
I laugh when inside I cry,
Minute by minute,my hopes they die ,
I have crushed my spirit ,
And now I live with spite ,
I laugh ,I laugh,
No escape in sight .
I laugh when 'weirdos' walk in the room,
'Cause in them I see similarity too,
I buried my soul,
I stabbed it dead,
My dignity,my honour ,all of it I shed ,
Alas!I laugh,I laugh,
Its the truth I dread

'I Laugh' is a poem that came to me at night in the quiet.Through it I attempted to highlight on the plight of the cool girls and boys in our class and how they merely laugh at everything to cover up their low self esteem and their unrelenting desire to be liked and accepted by all .
Even though,I wrote this poem with this perspective in mind,I will be thrilled to know if you could draw some other meaning out of it.
