Summer Agenda
Freshly mowed grass
Crystal clear pool
Heat constantly rising
Family and friends reunite with joy
The deck is filled with laughs and empty pop cans
Hotdogs and burgers fill the sizzling grill
Dads bicker over whose kid is the better pitcher
Debates settled over a game of bags
Moms gossip about the latest divorce in town
Sipping on their Diet Coke
Grandmas fill the kitchen with delicous treats
Everyone rushes to sneak a piece
Kids filled with excitement and relief
“School’s finally over ” they gleam
While munching on treats they think
About all the good summer has to bring
Just wait until they see
The amount of days, weeks, wasted
Leaving their bucket list left unmarked
Soon while sitting in a desk they’ll regret`
All the useless days they spent
