Clean
It started at 14
It started at parties
It started fun
“I’ll just try it”
It started once, then again, and again
Now it’s not once
Now I can’t escape
Now I have joined the social evil
It started at 14
It started fun
Now the all consuming addiction chokes me
Waiting for my last breath
I watch as my family goes to extremes to help me
I can stay clean
I will
For them
I tried, tried, I tried
Relapse.
It’s not fun anymore
Everything I own, my baby, sold for another taste
What’s left?
Society doesn’t care if a drug addict dies
A bad person who deserves death
Other people got clean, why not me?
It started at 14
It ended at 31.
