Where I'm From
I am the dirty socks
and dirty dishes
Mom, Dad, sister
and fighting fishes
I am the unswept floors,
Dust bunnies huddled in the corner,
I am the nearly empty Rasin Bran everyone fights for
I am the strangers passing by,
sipping their steaming Starbucks,
the best friends that I have
The tears, fears, vivid memories
Some good, others bad
I am the lucious green bean casserole,
Melting cheese pizza, and sweet tea,
Sugar grains dancing along the bottom,
I am the secret hidden
Shoved in the closet, behind the freshly ironed clothes,
Where only I know to go
After all the days
And all the nights I spend
Trying to find out who I am
I realize every part of me
Is everywhere I’ve been.
