Arrival
We travel for miles and miles
Over colors and shapes
Through clouds and sky
The world is like a quilt from this height
Greens, yellows, browns, blues
All are connected
As we travel farther away, time falls farther behind
How long has it been?
Two hours? Three?
The question changes
How much longer?
How much longer are we trapped in the air?
Traveling above the souls
Above the homes
Above the emotions
An announcement is made
We are almost there!
The landscape below changes
Once a quilt, now a city
An orange sun fills the horizon
Providing emotions
Excitement
Anxiousness
We arrive on time
The landing brings voices
Happiness is all around
Once tired, now excited
The wanting is gone
Replaced by a need
The need to explore the new
The need to remember the old
More waiting as strangers gather their belongings
Here for different reasons, but we are all here
I step off the platform
Faces watch as we find our way
Outside, the sun is welcoming
One friendly face among many people
It comforts us as we depart into the familiar unknown
