"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one so I never have to live without you." - Winnie the Poo (A. A. Milne)

Smile on her face,
a cry deep inside.
Wrists never exposed,
too much to hide.
Scars on the surface,
burning in flesh.
Hope to just let it go,
wish to start fresh.

The author's comments:
I had a friend who would sometimes cut herself and she confided in me. This friend got help and now is doing much better. This piece is my understanding- from what she described to me- of what was going through her head.

this poem has a lot of pain beneath it and if youve ever ben in this kind of situation(excuse my spelling) Then you understand completely about this poem. I find this poem brings up alot of old emotions for me, (even tho its small) because ive felt the same way. but it is possible to start fresh(:.
