the colors and you
The colors hold you, some more than others. The color red to me shows attraction, love, and confidence. Red reminds me of your sweatshirt during a cold December night and all the love I felt along with it. I am very picky with the color orange. To others, it reminds them of a bad spray tan or that tangy fruit, but to me, orange is the glow of a great sunset –specifically the sunset I saw with you. Green is a color I have always liked, not exactly the weird green you find in a pack of markers but the green you see in a grass field during summer. It’s the radiant green you see outside on the trees on a sunny day, the peaceful green of that one willow tree, the shimmering green I see in your eyes. Navy blue. It’s the color you see when you look up at a starry sky, the color that resembles the depths of the ocean. Navy blue. It’s the color that reminds me of the day I lost you. Navy blue, full of curiosity and pain, it can only fill me with memories of you. Navy blue. It’s my favorite color, but when asked, I just say it’s because of the rain.
