My New Rose is Blooming
February 1, 2024

                                Smelling the sweet new roses,
Philophobia, regicide, metempsychosis
An illusion of new life;

The final quatrain in the collection, concluding the previous events and feelings as symptoms of neurosis, and possibly a mild form of psychosis. The title is a play on words, meaning “My neurosis blooming,” which is the cause for the past three quatrains including this one. The “new rose blooming” was intended to coincide with the metempsychosis, and feelings of renewal. Following a seven/thirteen/seven/five meter, alternating between five, and three words per line, with an AABA rhyme scheme.
