No Longer Alone
I stand up, in front of the class, no one else does–-
No one else feels this way.
I sat back down, humiliated,
I felt alone, embarrassed.
Behind me, someone stands up too,
I join him, no longer alone.

This is a Sijo, a Korean form of poetry. meant to be short and sweet with 14-16 lines and three lines that can be split into six if needed for visual reasons. This is about one time I was humiliated and someone stood up so I wouldn't be alone.
