Among the skies

The Olympians Rise

Starts off with Uranus,

He was cruel and vicious

Father of the Titans he was

Then sent his kids to Tartarus

Kronos, son of Uranus

Overthrew his father

Soon to make his sons and daughters

Zeus, God of the Sky

Married Hera, Goddess of Women and Marriage

Then there was Poseidon, God of the Sea

He Married Amphitrite, the nereid, you see,

Can’t forget Hades, Ruler of the Underworld,

Never mentioned, not even a word

Married Persephone, daughter of Demeter

Demeter is next, who made farms greener

She’s the Goddess of fertility

And her symbol is wheat, thanks to her ability

There’s also Hestia, goddess of the hearth and home

She had no children unlike her family

After fear of weakness,

Cronus devours his sons and daughters

Swallowed or slaughtered

Rhea pulled a trick

To let Zeus live

He forced Kronos to regurgitate

And then fall to his fate

Zeus trapped him in Tartarus

To suffer and fuss

Zeus began to have children

To join the Olympians

There was Ares,

The God Of War

Unlucky Hephaestus,

The Smith God who was rejected

There was Hermes the messenger,

And Artemis, the Archer

Wise Athena, came right from the forehead,

And there’s Aphrodite, Goddess of Love

Also Apollo, God of Music and art, he was

Lastly, Dionysus, God of Wine

He could transform, which is just fine

These are the Greek Olympians

Who sometimes strife

But control life
