Tug a War
Everyone plays,
The hard core game,
Of life.
Also known as tug a war.
It can be short ,
Or very long,
But either way,
We struggle.
We pull hard,
It is tough, but
Inside our hearts
We know it is worth it.
People try to pull,
You onto their team.
But you know better,
Than to fall for their tricks.
It might hurt,
And give you blisters,
But you can win,
If you believe.
While you pull,
People abandon your team.
You may be lonely,
But someone always comes to help.
Keep pulling,
You know you can do it!
It is so easy now,
Because you can breathe and relax.
Your time is coming,
The rope is slipping from your fingers.
Even though you try to fight it,
You let go hoping you won.
He stands before you.
You fall to your knees,
As tears fill your blistered hands,
You have won.
You defeated life.
