Hurt
Why did you have to hurt me?
Was it something I did wrong?
Was it words I said, or actions took,
That made you feel you should hurt me?
Why did you have to hurt me?
Was it pain you carried deep within,
From scars of your own past?
Did you lash out to feel control?
Why did you have to hurt me?
Was it all a twisted game?
Did you ever stop to see the damage,
And feel even a hint of shame?
Why did you have to hurt me?
Did you have to create pain?
Is this what love is to you?
Did you have to turn love into pain?
Why did you have to hurt me?
Did you know I’m not okay now?
Was it all a plan of yours, to destroy my happiness?
Do you like seeing me hurt?
Why did you have to hurt me?
Did you not know that I was innocent?
Why did you make me like this?
Did you have to make me terrified of love?
Why didn’t you stop?
