I always think back to the times
That I used to live in New Jersey
The cool summers
The frigid winters
The great friends
The greater memories
I still remember what it was like
When my parents said the news:
“We’re moving, going down south”
Devastation, sorrow, sadness, anger
Some of the emotions that welled up inside of me
When those words were uttered
But now, I am glad
Moving here has changed my life
Changed my views
Changed my dreams
Changed my home
