Some Cosmic God
When I died
I had a conversation with a ghost who had an ungodly claim
he said "Heaven is not a place, and god doesn't have a name."
When I enquired further, all he could say
was "Soon you'll go upward son- get ready for the day."
When I died
I had a conversation with a somber soul who had a most depressing theory-
"We live to love and once its gone, the world gets mighty dreary."
We floated up together, praying for cosmic life
we passed jupiter and all his moons, narrowly passed by a rushing satelite.
When I died,
at last were close to landing
a bright, brillant light flashed and not one man could see
we were in a parlor, the home of an entity.
When I died
A mighty man, brutish and mighty appeared with a cookbook in his hand
he said "Welcome! You can flavor up this stew! Its getting very bland!"
I asked him for some wisdom,
but he shook his head and said-
"I guess I'm god, but it never goes to my head.
The water is boiling now
so if you could just pop into the pot...
I'll butter you up and throw you in
your just food for some cosmic god."
all we are is food for some cosmic god
