Forever Stained
I wish I was numb so I didn't have to feel the pain
I wish I was blind so wouldn't have to see the rain
The thick, black clouds darken the sky
They can't say I've quit, they haven't seen me try
Outside, I let the rain hit my skin
I lift my arms and pray "Forgive my every sin"
After the storm, there's a ray of hope
A rainbow with it's magnificent slope
The colors I've imagined, but couldn't see
To lighten the darkness that hangs over me
A few moments of peace, then it's gone
I step discouraged across the wet lawn
My bare feet leave imprints on the ground
I wish somehow my faith could be found
My trust went out the window long ago
What went with, I don't know
But what went was replaced with what I feel:
Hurt, anger, sorrow, emptiness, it's so real
If pictures are worth a thousand words, then what about this?
A thousand times ten wouldn't be a miss
I feel the blades of wet grass beneath my fingertips
A tear falls on my trembling lips
 I can't feel it, but I know I'm cold
A flower in my hand I hold
I'm too blind to see it's beauty
Though it's right here for me to see
I'm so filled with my dark eptiness
But to no one I can confess
I'm used to the darkness, but I can't sleep
I can't spill the secrets none can keep
I hate this feeling I have inside
It follows me everywhere, there's no place to hide
As I sit in the grass, again it starts to pour
My feeling returns, I'm chilled to the core
I stand and start to run with the rain
For I know, deep down, I'll forever be stained
With the blood of the impact you made on my life-
The life you undeniably cut with your scythe
