Used To Be
Empty shells that at a time were eyes
I am concealed behind a complex, fabricated disguise
Skin that’s ashen and dry as sand
All signs of possible awareness have been shut out and banned
Running my gaunt fingers across the dusty recesses of my mind
Reminisces have left me hollow, frozen, and emotionally blind
Anguish
Burning
Frustration
Yearning for some kind of
Personal identification
Broken, but are the shattered pieces still hidden somewhere deep inside?
I suppose I shall be the one who has to eventually decide
Yet for now, you are granted the old of the ancient key
To the girl who once used to be me
