The Letter
She wrote him a letter
Every time that she remembered
How it used to be
And sure she knew
That forgetting must be better
But instead a page is torn away by pain
Her name was signed with a heart for love
Just to strike it out
And in her hysteria the ink was pooled
So down the page ran the final line
As her name was just a blur
She shredded a letter
Every time that she remembered
What that boy had done
And yeah it was true
Without him she was better
But still a pen was in her grasp
A collection of letters
Beneath her bed
And she lays alone just to go over
How it could have been
So then it her that without him she was better
But still she wrote…
She wrote him a letter
Just to say goodbye
For this battle was done
She wrote it was true
If he stuck with her it could be better
But she signed her name one last time
No heart; no strike
She didn’t care…
