Father Time
I was fooled by the myth that time heals every wound
The days turn into weeks
And weeks into months
Yet nothing changes
My heart still beats for him
Still so rhythmic even as it brakes into shattering pieces
And reality sinks in
He is no longer mine
She can be with him
Yet every night
I am visited by another one of our memories
And I wake in cold sweat
As one stray tear escapes
From the battering of my eye lids
It gently glides down the side of my flushed cheek
Threatening to show my pain
And I wipe it astray
Waiting for the day
That time
Indeed
will make this all go away
