Rememberance
What she remembers is
The way you held her as a child
The admirable gleam in her eyes
As she hears your past tense stories
Or as she watched your face light up with glory
When you signed your name on a child’s football
She remembers it all
What she knows is
You’d never do her harm
You secretly worry for her
She can tell by your eyes
She knows you’d do anything
To keep her a child
To bring back the days
There were no worries
The days you threw her all around
Couch to couch
Day by day
