Pain of Heart
Your heart tells you to flee
Because it doesn’t want what it was
It doesn’t want to become the burdens
The lies
The hurt
The betrayal
The deceit
Everything else that caused it pain
It doesn’t want that war again.
Your heart it was burning
With a fiery passion.
You thought you had it all
Then it all came down crashing.
Your heart felt
What pain was like
For the very first time.
You laid at night
And had to fight
The urge to cry.
After a while
It finally mended
It became that fiery passion once more.
It was cured
Of its undesirable pain
All the way down to its core.
It just wants to protect itself
From what it had and what it has
It doesn’t want any intervention
In what it wants to last.
