Victim
The elastic band
held between you and me
is so tight...
it begs to be let free
but i keep holding my end
and you keep holding yours
we can't help but smile
and guess what's behind the next door
why do we try so hard
to make our love work?
we just keep patching eachother up
when the other is hurt
these stitshes and scars
can't keep me from you
and i know your tears
run for me, too
because no matter how hard we try,
the world wants this to end
but our desire and stubborness
tell us to continue to mend
even if we tried
we could never be apart
because we are both destined
to fall
victims to our own hearts
