On a whisper tree
Sits and watches
Quietly
As the world turns
And the river runs
Dry
A whippoorwill
Once told me
That if you sit long enough
You can see
The moon fall
And the sun colors rise
A whippoorwill
With a song to sing
Lights up the air
With harmony
Pushing feet
And silence
Into dance
