The Starbucks Guy
The cloudy gray morning is so peaceful.
I yearn for a latte. Mmm...a cupful.
Starbuck's comes to mind.
Not very hard to find.
After barely two blocks, there it is.
Who even invented Starbucks? Surely some coffee whiz.
My thoughts ponder on what to get.
Hmm...whatever my morning stomach will let.
I enter the popular over-priced coffee house with anticipation.
And what I see sends my heart into palpitations.
Standing behind the counter is The Starbucks Guy.
Oh god...I think i'll just die.
When I look into those eyes, I stop breathing altogether.
Is it really hot in here? I hope I can withstand this weather.
I feel unusually weak.
S***! I must look like a freak!
After one deep breath, I start walking towards him.
One foot in front of the other...I see his name is Jim.
Soft, shaggy dirty blonde hair.
Oh no...did I just stare?
He asks: Hi, what can i get for you today?
I gaze into his baby blues and tell him i'll have a latte.
At least...I hope that's what I said.
Is this a dream? Am I even out of bed?
When I pickup my latte, I learn that everything is all too real,
Because when he hands me the drink, it's his fingers I feel.
He smiled, I smiled.
My heart's going wild!
The Starbucks Guy...
Mmm....Oh my.
